History and Milestones
Coventry in 1976 one of the toughest years in history. Britain faced financial crisis. The government was forced to apply to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a loan of nearly $4,000,000,000,000. HJT Brewer formed Oldfield Advisory from a vision.
VAT was a recent creation. Our small team spent most of our time helping clients with their VAT returns and bookkeeping, then progressing into accounts preparation and assisting with audits. We wanted to do more. We had an eager passion for helping businesses succeed, which led on to us taking an active role in managing the finance departments of some larger growing clients. This meant that we got immersed in the finances of businesses in a wide range of industries, giving us extensive experience and invaluable insights into the business owners perspective, and the real issues, challenges and opportunities they were facing every day. This germ of realism remains engrained into our advice, right up to the present day.
